It is embossed fire extinguisher grendae on one side, and on the other side it is embossed patented no 1 aug 8, 1871, aug 14 188? Last # is missing. It would make a great addition to any fire equipment collection. I am selling this as is due to the ebbossed print that is missing. It is a beautiful picee of glass and fire history.I don't know anything about fire grenades, only what i was told by the family i got this from. Bid accordingly. 10-1-10 informed em that. This is a hayward quilted footed extinguisher. It is filled with a salt water solution, not chemicals. Thanks for the info.
